CHICAGO (August 1, 2019) - Realtors Property Resource®, a nationwide data resource and a wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Association of Realtors®, is pleased to announce the addition of Qualified Opportunity Zones to its platform. This powerful data layer will allow Realtors® to use RPR's map interface to analyze and search for properties within the 8,700 Opportunity Zones throughout the U.S.


How do I create a Local Economic Area Report based on a Qualified Opportunity Zone?

  1. Log in to RPR at

  2. Click on Data Tools in the upper right corner. 

  3. Click on For Associations.

  4. Click on the Economic Area Reports tab.

  5. Select Local Economic Area Report.

  6. Enter a local geographical area (such as a city or zip code) to zoom in on an area you would like to search.

  7. In the Define your Geography, click Select areas on a map.

  8. Select Opportunity Zones from the Map Wizard pull-down menu. - Opportunity Zones will be shaded a peach color. (If you do not see any areas displayed in peach, try zooming out on the map a bit to broaden your search.)

  9. Click on the Opportunity Zone(s) you want to search. - The area will highlight purple once selected.

  10. Select Next in the Map Wizard.

  11. Name your area and click Save.

  12. Choose your saved Opportunity Zone in the dropdown (if not already selected).

  13. Select Run Report.

In addition, Opportunity Zones have been added to maps site-wide. Now REALTORS® can uncover Qualified Opportunity Zones using RPR’s map interface to display underlying properties. Opportunity Zones are available in both Residential and Commercial.

UC/Kick Out- A property that is currently Under Contract. Both Buyer and Seller have entered into an executed purchase agreement in Good Faith. The executed purchase agreement contains a Kick Out clause that gives the Seller the right to terminate with the current Buyer if another acceptable offer is presented to the Seller. After another offer is received, the seller has the ability to give notice to the under contract Buyer and that Buyer will have 5 days or less (these clauses can be 24, 48, 72, 96 or 120 hours, but not longer than 5 days or 120 hours) to meet all contingencies or the contract could be terminated by the seller. THE LISTING AGENT MUST PROVIDE AN EXECUTED CONTRACT TO CREN MLS AS BACK UP WITHIN 24 HOURS FOR ANY LISTING THAT IS IN THIS SUB-STATUS. IF THE PURCHASE CONTRACT IS NOT PROVIDED TO CREN MLS, CREN STAFF WILL CHANGE THE STATUS TO UC/Contingent/Call LB. UC/Kick Out is a sub-status of the Active status and is considered “on-market” status.

When should status change to UC/Pending?

When the contract has passed contingency dates, the status should be changed to UC/Pending, accomplishing two things:

1. Listings will never expire while under this status, even after its expiration date

2. The property will NO LONGER be sent to 3rd party sites or agent and broker websites

*Listing agent must provide an executed contract to CREN MLS within 24 hours for any listing in this sub-status, or CREN staff will change the status to UC/Contingent/Call LB.

The guys at National Real Estate Post, a daily vlog devoted to lender and REALTOR® issues, have started a petition to fight the DOJ investigation and class action lawsuits filed against NAR and major real estate brokerage chains for colluding to keep real estate agent commissions artificially high at 6%. The petition will be sent to:

  • 50 states Attorneys General

  • 50 State Consumer Financial Protection Bureau

  • U.S. Federal Trade Commission

  • U.S. Dept. of Justice

  • U.S. Dept. Housing & Urban Development

  • U.S. House Financial Services Committee

CE Requirements

  • CREC Update: CAR requires all members to take an annual CREC update course for a total of 12 credits over each 3 year license renewal period.

  • Ethics: NAR requires all members take 2 hours and 30 minutes of Ethics between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2020, or be suspended until the requirement is met. ***Ethics classes taken before January 1, 2019 do not count for this cycle.
