Originally chartered as The Black Canyon Board of Realtors® in 1962, MAR incorporated as the Montrose Board of Realtors® in 1975 before finally becoming the Montrose Association of Realtors® in 1991.

The Association serves as a resource to its members, providing education through easily accessible, highly valuable, and fairly priced educational opportunities. Through the association, we provide both live and on-line courses. Relevant educational programs improve the members’ ability to conduct their businesses in an ethical and professional manner. We will promote and participate in the National Association of REALTORS® REP (REALTORS® Excellence Program) that strengthens quality of services offered to buyers and sellers.
Membership is composed of residential and commercial brokers, salespeople, property managers, appraisers, counselors, and others engaged in the real estate industry. Members belong to one or more of approximately 1,200 local associations/boards and 54 state and territory associations of REALTORS®. Included with MAR membership.
Colorado's largest professional, voluntary, non-profit, real estate trade association that is dedicated to serving more than 25,000 REALTOR® members across the state. These agents are also members of 33 local associations statewide and the National Association of REALTORS®. . Included with MAR membership.
