MAR Committees and Correlation to Strategic Objectives & Actions For The 2018 – 2023 Strategic Plan

 

PUBLIC RELATIONS SUBCOMMITTEES

Community Outreach

Strategic Objective #2: MAR will make our communities aware of REALTOR® contributions to and involvement in them. Strategic Action #2: MAR will encourage members to become more active in our communities where they live and work.  It will seek activities in which the members can become involved and contribute to our communities.

 

Events

This committee’s purpose is to assist in the planning and development of meaningful events for member enjoyment, unrelated to specific business purposes.

            

Technology

Strategic Action #4: MAR will survey membership to determine the type of technology they currently use.  They will collaborate with the multiple listing service to enhance member productivity and success by offering relevant new technology as it becomes available.

 

Business Development

Strategic Objective #1: MAR will proactively address developing dynamic leadership for the association and for our communities. 

 

Professional Development

Strategic Action #1: MAR will identify new and relevant class offerings that will benefit all members.  It will hold more board functions and leadership training opportunities to increase member participation and develop stronger leaders.  

 

Education

Strategic Action #1: MAR will identify new and relevant class offerings that will benefit all members.  It will hold more board functions and leadership training opportunities to increase member participation and develop stronger leaders.

            

Property Rights

Strategic Action. #3: MAR will continue to promote private property rights for the good of its members and their clients.

 

MAR Promotion

Strategic Action #4: MAR will promote and educate members on the value of being a REALTOR® and coach them on how to share that value with their clients. MAR will work with its members on how to improve the public’s perception of who a REALTOR® is.

 

Value Proposition

Strategic Objective #4: MAR will clearly communicate the value of the association and benefits of participation.  Strategic Action #4: MAR will develop a value proposition statement that outlines the benefits of being an association member.   

 

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS SUBCOMMITTEES

Government Involvement

Strategic Action #3: MAR will build positive community relationships by participating in local government activities and will encourage more member participation in community events. This committee will participate in local government affairs and maintain the informational flow between MAR and government entities (i.e. City Council, DDA, County Commissioners, etc).

 

Advocacy

Strategic Action #3: MAR will educate members on the importance of individual participation in CAR and NAR Calls for Action.  MAR will continue to promote private property rights for the good of its members and their clients.

 

FINANCE SUBCOMMITTEES

Budget

This subcommittee works to allocate the financial and human resources required to implement Association strategic goals and mission. Includes review of yearly budgeting, changes to existing budget and recommendation to the MAR BOD on budgeting/accounting matters.

            

Building

This subcommittee will study and make recommendations on the use of the building.  It will review the pros and cons of retaining the building vs. disposing of it.  If a recommendation to dispose of the building were to be forthcoming, then a further recommendation should be where to house staff and how to best utilize the proceeds from a sale.   

 

Sustainability

Strategic Objective #1, MAR will proactively address developing dynamic leadership for the association and for our communities.  These leaders will be key to the sustainability of the association in a time when the entire industry is morphing and evolving.

            

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES SUBCOMMITTEES

Governance Reviews

This subcommittee will regularly review the policies and procedures of the association as well as policy governance.

 

Records

This subcommittee will ensure the records of the association are compliant with all local, state, and national standards. If necessary, make recommendation to the MAR BOD for better methods of record keeping and/or storage.
